FORGOT YOUR DETAILS?

Eye Exam

Eye examinations are free in Scotland under the NHS. We recommend regular examinations every one or two years unless otherwise advised by your optometrist. Even if you don’t wear glasses you should definitely get them checked.

Every eye exam at Adam Opticians is carried out with the latest equipment in line with NHS, General Optical Council and College of Optometrists guidelines.

When you arrive for your appointment you can relax in our comfortable waiting area and enjoy a cup of tea before being called through.

The eye exam will include a glasses and vision check as well as a health exam. You will be screened for various eye conditions including dry eye, cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration and many more. Your eyes will also be screened for health conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart conditions, strokes, neurological conditions and others.

Choosing Eyewear

Once your eye exam is complete, we will discuss your vision, eye health and any requirement for glasses or treatment. If you receive certain benefits from the NHS then you may be entitled to help towards your glasses. Once chosen we will take all the relevant measurements before ordering and arranging for delivery or collection of your glasses.

Your optometrist is the first place to visit for all eye problems. If you are concerned about your eyes, contact us or book now, or if your problem is urgent call us on 0141 558 8076 for our Springburn practice or 0141 648 6757 for our Castlemilk practice to speak to a member of our team.

Our optometrist has a further qualification in independent prescribing. This allows prescribing of medication required to treat eye disease and acute eye conditions. Prescriptions are free, the same as your GP or dentist.
